Country Boy to Urban Missionary

I grew up in small town USA , Texas to be exact, where family and community had a high value. My Scottish Grandad, came to America from London as a missionary, and he was the pastor of the church we attended when I was a small child. Challenges in my life, and therefore trust in God began at an early age for me. I was 6 years old when my Mom died, and a few short months later after turning 7, I gave my life over to Jesus and trusted Him to be my Saviour, my Heavenly Father and my friend.

JOURNEY: I’ve been on a journey ever since striving to become a fully devoted follower of Christ. I am continually growing in the grace of God, trusting Him in ALL situations, and most of the time when I don’t get in His way, I am completely dependent upon Him, daily.

It is a thrill to wake up every morning knowing that this country boy from Texas,

Gets to worship the Creator of the universe, the one that sent His only Son to die on the cross to be the propitiation for my sins. And, I love the fact that God has given me His Spirit as proof that I live in Him and He in me (1 John 4:13)

35 Years: I am so blessed by God to be trusted with an awesome family, a wife of 34 years and three beautiful children.

After spending 20 years in the corporate world in America, God called me (with my family) to be urban missionaries in Edinburgh Scotland.

STARTING YEAR 16 in Edinburgh, Scotland:
For the past 15 years, we have been focused on:

• reaching the lost with the Gospel
• training and discipling the next generation
• church planting

CHURCH PLANTING -During this time, we have helped establish three new churches in our city.

• Edinburgh City Vineyard Church
• Centrepoint Church Edinburgh
• Mosaic Edinburgh

AND…both Edinburgh City Vineyard Church and Centrepoint Church, Edinburgh have each planted another Church in the Edinburgh surrounding area.

SHOCKING FACT: It would take 194 new churches being planted, that each grew to 500 people, in order for 20% of the UN-CHURCHED in Edinburgh to be reached.

MINISTRY:  As a marketplace missionary…

Our FOCUS: Reaching the lost with the Gospel here in Edinburgh Scotland and beyond its borders, and helping them become fully devoted followers of Christ.

Our PASSION: Making Disciples, Equipping Ministers, and Mobilizing Missionaries.

Our MISSION: Through a strategic partnership with The Centre for European Church Planting, our mission is to advance the Gospel in Europe by helping to plant churches that reach lost people.
